Some days are better than others for a farmers market, and wow, did the stars align for us today! We’ve got sunshine, marimba music, an all-star lineup in the chef’s tent, the best street food in the city . . . and a pretty awesome (if we do say so ourselves) selection of the best local fruits and veggies, free range chicken and eggs, wild fish, and grassfed beef, lamb and pork. And that’s not even mentioning the award-winning cheese, hard cider, honey, breads, pastries and coffee. Come over and stay a while.
Chefs & Authors
Nobody is born knowing how to prepare fresh corn, let along a rutabaga. It has been estimated that in the last generation, fewer people have learned to cook than in any previous age. Sadly, the reliance on fast food, prepared foods and microwaves has taken a toll on our general health and the planet.
As we return to fresh, whole foods, the kitchen is the first front in the food revolution. The QAFM Chef Event series is designed to inspire, instruct, and motivate at every level.
We feature demos by chefs from local restaurants, “teaching demos” by private chefs, culinary instructors, food bloggers and other food lovers, and book signings by authors of cookbooks and other food-related books all season long.
If you are a chef, teacher or author (or would like to suggest one for the market), please send us an email.
Check our Events page to see the current schedule, which will continue to be updated throughout the season.
